We are looking for a Software Engineer to keep the Utilen platform healthy — investigating and fixing bugs across the frontend and backend, supporting feature work, and tackling the steady stream of maintenance, refactoring, and small improvements that keep a growing product reliable. This is a full-stack role with a bias toward debugging, fast turnaround, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, reproduce, and fix bugs across the React/TypeScript frontend and FastAPI/Python backend.
• Triage incoming issues, assess severity and impact, and prioritize fixes against ongoing feature work.
• Trace problems through the full stack — UI, API routes, Celery tasks, database queries, and integrations — and identify root causes rather than symptoms.
• Write tests that cover each fix to prevent regressions, and contribute to overall coverage.
• Support feature development: implement endpoints, UI changes, and data-model updates as needed.
• Resolve issues that surface in deployed environments, including data and migration problems, and verify fixes post-deploy.
• Address code-quality findings (SonarQube, linting) and carry out small refactors to reduce technical debt.
• Document fixes and notable root causes so recurring issues become faster to resolve.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python (ideally FastAPI) and JavaScript/TypeScript (ideally React).
• Strong debugging skills across the full stack, from browser to database.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and writing/optimizing queries.
• Comfortable writing automated tests (pytest, Vitest, or similar).
• Able to work independently, communicate clearly, and turn fixes around quickly.

• Experience with Celery/Redis, asynchronous task processing, and background jobs.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
• Exposure to AWS, Docker, and cloud-deployed environments.
• Experience with database migrations (Alembic) and diagnosing production data issues.
